The techboss 3D printing pen was built for the creative mind and performs as it should. The pen performed much better than I expected and at such a reasonable price. It's a great gift for the aspiring artist of almost any age.

So, the pen has auto sleep function, basically after X amount of minutes (around 10 while working) the pen will go into sleep mode and start cooling down on its own, it's a safety feature which is quite neat and you can just keep working by pressing the extrude button. While actually working you'll hardly notice this, but where this feature shines is when you stop working, put the pen down and leave your room. After a couple of minutes, or maybe less the pen will automatically pull the plastic back to make sure there will NOT be any clogging, and then the pen will start to cool down on its own. This is an amazing safety feature, especially if you keep in mind that this is a pen tip of which is about 180+ degrees C. While not enough to start fires, this could leave a mark if it were to keep active for a long time, so the auto pulling of the plastic to prevent clogging and cooling feature is really amazing. Finally i'd like to point out that the pen is super light weight, easy to use, very intuitive controls and the place where you hold the pen doesn't even get warm. i've used hot glue guns which got so hot you could hardly use it without burning yourself. The design of this pen is 10/10

Well I would like to say I really enjoyed this pen, but our older granddaughter saw it and i will have to buy another one if I want to use it. This is our first experience with any kind of 3D printing. She used the pen for the first time for about 3 hours tonight, and made a 3D SpongeBob after learning how to use the pen. So I would say it is easy to pick up and use. I did ask her to read the instructions several times and she did. They aren't long and it didn't take very long. The only problem was a jam at one point. I told her to raise the temperature and that fixed it. We had to change the material to ABS, though, to raise the temp. to about 200 C. We couldn't get the temp. under the PLA selection to go above about 180 C. Maybe there is another way to raise the temp. If you know how please comment. After that she was unstoppable, and she said she really likes HER new 3D pen. Here is a photo of her creation. So I would say it is definitely a 5 star product and a lot of fun to use. But you might not want to try this at your home, since she is a college student. Here is a link to the package of filament we used tonight. I highly recommend it also. It worked great with the pen. 3D Pen Filament Refills - 1.75mm 594ft PLA Filament Pack of 18 Colors 32.8ft Each Color and Included Stencil&3D Drawing Board&Spatula

I have couple desktop 3d printers , and sometimes when things break, this can extrude filament exactly to where I want it to and repair the part. Very awesome for that purpose , I don’t personally like the idea to draw 3d prints with this, it’s a skill I need to master with, but it is still fun to play with it with ur creativity.

This is a fantastic 3d pen, I highly recommend this for yourself or as a gift. This pen has a great comfortable design. I have tried a lot of different 3d pens and so far this is my favorite! The 8 speed settings really help to add details. I would highly suggest purchasing additional filament at the same time as you can get more colors, and more colors lets your imagination run wild.

For anyone looking for a 3D Printing Pen or an introduction to 3D Printing for any reason, this pen is a great start. While those without an artistic side might find it daunting, if you look for some videos and guides online you'd be surprised how simple it is to actually create a 3D object with a pen like this. Pros: Handles third-party filaments, Takes PLA and ABS which is awesome, Heats up quickly, Numerous Speed settings Cons: Bit of oozing (but that's a common problem in 3D Printers as well), Suction Cup Holder could be a bit sturdier, Cord is a bit short (and a battery pack isn't the way to go either due to the power draw) You can see Homer was created using this pen utilizing methods described in some online videos. You can really create a great final product with this pen if you put some work into it. But even with minimal effort, you'll be able to see how 3D printing works and get an idea of how you might be able to utilize the pen further. At $40 this product is a good deal. You can print in PLA or ABS which is pretty cool and it handles third-party filaments. The cord is a bit short, but a battery pack just wouldn't work. Overall this is a good product worth looking into if you're interested in 3D Printing and maybe a different way of sculpting or correcting 3D Printed Model issues.

This is my second 3D Pen after purchasing one of the first ones available on the market years ago. I have to say, that I am quite surprised at how far the technology has come in a short time. This pen is a big improvement and includes many new features that the original ones that I tried did not. For example, the heating time is much faster and the small digital screen lets you know the exact temperature. However, before taking a deeper dive into the features, let's start out with the packaging. The box is nice and sleek and comes with some things I did not expect. The two that primarily come to mind are: 1. Suction cup holder: for anyone that has a small makerspace at home, it is easy to lose track of how much space you're taking up. For me, I prefer a spot right next to a window. With this, I am able to display my pen at a position that is handy and readily available. It seems like something minor but it made a lot of sense for me. 2. A small finger protector sleeve: for anyone who has experience with 3D pens or 3D printing in general, one thing is for certain: at some point, you're going to get burned a little. I am actually quite surprised that no one came up with something like this before for protecting. Again, something that seems small but that to me adds a lot to the overall product. The product itself has a nice sleek design and is a decent size. It is not bulky and it is attractive on the eye (I got the black model.) The extruding process is easy and has adjustable speeds. Something that I found useful once I got a hang of it, like with standard 3D printing, put down some painters tape on a layer of cardboard or a material of your choosing. I found that the PLA was able to stick much better and I had more control over the entire design of my creations. As far as the pen goes, the limit is really how creative you are and what you have in mind. The most I use the pen for is to fix imperfections in 3D prints I make. It is a handy tool for attaching together multipart prints and eliminating flaws or lines you don't like. When it came to my personal creations, I was able to sit down and experiment with some basic shapes and eventually evolve into larger pieces. I feel that this goes as far as you want, if you're interested in creating 2D art you can touch, that is fair game..however, if you're looking to become a human 3D printer with the help of the pen..that is also an option.

I love it. It works really good with the Filoment I got and have had no problems with it.

My daughter wanted to do a sculpture for her book report at school and we decided to try this 3D pen rather than clay. We chose this Tecboss only because we saw a few "pros" using it on youtube and I figured if they used it for 20+ hours on their projects then it should be of good quality - And it is! It is surprisingly light weight! Seriously shocked that a heater a gears were inside. It was also smaller than thought even though we saw it in videos. It heats very quickly (maybe 60 sec.) and takes about 30 sec. from standby mode. We used all PLA colors and we were impressed by how strong this material is after it cools and no fumes. It's very rigid. The small details on her dragon DO NOT break off when touched. It took some practice, but she did about 90% of what you see in the picture (10yrs old). The hot tip is very small and the end gets warm as your fingers get closer to the tip which gives some warning that you are getting near the danger zone. She became comfortable using it on her own, including changing colors out of the unit. It took about 20 hours total for this 11in long dragon and wings. After completing this first project she and I learned a lot and will continue to improve. If you like arts & crafts I would recommend trying it out. It's pretty cool for the money.

Works great, just as described. Son loved it
